Abendzeitung München: “Wanka teamed up with the Munich media artist Manuela Hartel for the stage, which is enriched with … videos and projections and designed to be very expressive. A clever move that literally lights up the production now presented under the title “Asymmetrical Encounters”. Sometimes shrill, sometimes weird or gloomy and cloudy. Always in the balance between kitsch and subtly subtle humor. ”

Münchner Feuilleton: „With lots of wig and costume changes, expressive dancers and the trendy video collages by Manuela Hartel evolves a dance piece between clip aesthetics and hidden objects.”

⭕️ What are the interfaces between the apparently gender-stereotypical tango and the supposedly gender-neutral contemporary dance? Rosalie Wanka gets to the bottom of this question in her new dance piece. In collaboration with an international cast and the Munich media artist Manuela Hartel, she creates scenes between dream and reality. The fast-paced dance of the performers deals with the movement languages of contemporary dance and Argentine tango; with different culturally shaped body images as well as with the interactions between language and physical self-image. With a lot of humor Wanka is questioning the possibility and impossibility of mutual understanding.
