The ECHOLOT Festival (1-3 July 2016) at Castle Kempfenhausen on Lake Starnberg transformed the castle into a “Gesamtkunstwerk” making a fresh attempt to the definition of Neue Musik. The audience had a comprehensive listening and viewing experience with concerts of renowned artists, complemented by unique audio and video installations in the courtyard and the park: a 4 – channel soundfield, video projections on the facade of the castle and a listening garden in the rotunda which through projections became a magic garden at night. Each day of the festival ended with a performative Nach(t)klang/Nightly-Echo in the summery park.
