Die nächtliche Performance in der Nantesbucher Au beleuchtet auf über 160 m Waldrand die symbiotische Nähe von Bäumen, Mensch und Tier. Im strahlend hellen Performance-Kleid bringt Manuela Hartel Licht ins Dunkel des Grenzbereiches von Wald und Flur. Hin und wieder durchbricht sie die Wand aus Dickicht, löst Lichtimpulse und Klangelemente aus und setzt Sträucher und Bäume als natürliches Bühnenbild in Szene. Was bei Tageslicht so selbstverständlich scheint, wird in der Magie der Dunkelheit fremd, betörend und eindringlich. 

Eine besonders symbiotische Zusammenarbeit von Videokunst und Klang verbindet Manuela Hartel mit dem griechischen Musiker und Komponisten Stavros Gasparatos. Seine musikalischen Kompositionen werden als Kopfhörer-Konzert eingespielt. Das Erlebnis von Stille und Klang bestimmt so jeder Gast selbst. In einer prozessionshaften Klang-Wanderung geleitet die Performerin den Besucher am Waldrand entlang und wieder zurück zum Langen Haus in Nantesbuch.

Die Licht- und Klangperformance, von Kunsthistoriker Jörg Garbrecht kuratiert und von der Stiftung Kunst & Natur Nantesbuch ermöglicht, war im September vergangenen Jahres live im Tölzer Land in Bad Heilbrunn zu erleben. Am 28., 29. und 30. Mai 2021 kann man die Waldrand Attitüde noch einmal per Online-Stream sehen. Während dieser drei Tage ist die Videodokumentation zu einem beliebigen Zeitpunkt abrufbar – von Freitagabend 19 Uhr bis Sonntagabend 24 Uhr. Jeweils um 20 Uhr stehen Stavros Gasparatos und Manuela Hartel dem interessierten Publikum in einer Live-Konferenz via Zoom-link Frage und Antwort – eine einmalige Gelegenheit zu einem Künstlergespräch. Der Live-Text Chat ist durchgehend aktiv.

The nightly performance in the Nantesbucher Au illuminates the symbiotic closeness of trees, people and animals on over 160 m of the edge of the forest. In a radiant, bright performance dress, Manuela Hartel brings light into the darkness of the border area between forest and field. Every now and then she breaks through the wall of thicket, triggers light impulses and sound elements and stages bushes and trees as a natural stage setting. What seems so natural in daylight becomes alien, beguiling and haunting in the magic of darkness.

A particularly symbiotic collaboration between video art and sound connects Manuela Hartel with the Greek musician and composer Stavros Gasparatos. His musical compositions are played live as a headphone concert. The experience of silence and sound is determined by each guest themselves. In a processional sound walk, the performer guides the visitor along the edge of the forest and back to the Langes Haus at Nantesbuch.

The light and sound performance, curated by art historian Jörg Garbrecht and funded by the Stiftung Kunst & Natur Nantesbuch, could be experienced live in the Tölzer Land in Bad Heilbrunn last September. On May 28, 29 and 30, 2021 you can watch the Waldrand Attitüde again via online stream. During these three days, the video documentation can be accessed at any time – from Friday evening 7 p.m. to Sunday evening midnight. At 8 p.m. each, Stavros Gasparatos and Manuela Hartel will be available to the interested audience in a live conference via zoom link for questions and answers – a unique opportunity for an artist talk. The live text chat is always active.
